I hear ya... to bad about the factory... I searched for two weeks before finding a small mom-pop shop in SC that could ship them to me.... Ordered their last 8... I do like them and the TRXUS seemed to be the most difficult to find vs some other the other INTERCO styles... We'll see once I chew through these 8 if they are still having difficult or if it will be time to find something more readily available. I seem to recall several places such as JC having the other swamper types available if you are not 100% set on the TRXUS's

I replaced the old stock Maloya's (7.5-16) with BFG Mud-terrain T/A KM2 , size 235/85R16. Watch out for going too broad it will cost you in terms of fuel consumption...

Does anyone here have any experience running 305/70-16s on the stock rims? I'm curious if this size is absolutely too wide.

I saw one truck with 305/70s on it. Although they fit, my opionion is that steering will be much more difficult with tires this wide. Unless you have a burning desire for that look, or a real need for wide floataion tires I would keep the narrower. The stock rims don't seem to be a problem with them, though.

I have 296/75s on widened, 8" rims, and I need 60psi in the front tires just to make steering bearable (even when moving). Next set of tires will be narrower, even with the wide rims.

My truck came with Firestone LT305/70-16 Destination MT tires on stock rims. The PO used the truck in the desert and said he wanted more of a footprint for the sand. I think they make the truck wander more on the road. I want to replace them with Interco TrXus MT LT255/85R16 . I will be selling mine when I can finally find the Interco tires. Kevin

Thanks for the valuable feedback. My greatest concern was the width of the tire and relative bead angle when mounted on the stock rims. After taking into consideration arguments for and against I took the plunge and mounted Goodyear Wrangler MT/R Kevlar LT305/70R16s on my 710K. I've not noticed any wandering in the steering to speak of and the engine seems a bit more relaxed (versus the previous 265/75s) while rolling very smoothly around town for such an aggressive tire.

Has Interco come up with a producer for their tires yet? I can't find ANY suitable Interco tires here in Florida!

David is spot on, 235/85 R16 is closest to original. In fact when I changed mine and were able to measure side by side the difference was more to do with wear than anything. The Greenway tyres I fitted are no longer made!
