Daily driver tire wear

Post by Puch »

Hello I am new to this forum and purchasing my first pinz 710k in a week . I know the pinz has a positive camber . My question is with basic paved road driving as a daily driver will the tires on a pinz wear much faster then say a typical AWD vehicle ? If so can anything be done to extend tire life ? I'm concerned about outer edge wear or tire cupping . Should I run radial or bias tires ? Thanks guys

The camber can be adjusted if it is excessive. Roll forward about 10' to 15'
on level ground and just give it a visual inspection. You should just notice
the camber but it should not be drastic. The manual covers how to adjust.
Too much and your tires will indeed wear at the edges.

Radials, is your best bet, especially on the highway. And a high quality
AT/MT will do you fine on the trail -- aired down appropriately of course.

I'd like to thank you for the information on the camber adjustment and the kind welcome to the forum. The pinz comes with several manuals. I will read up on the camber adjustment.

I think it also depends on how loaded the pinz is. If you are rolling around with 1 person and no weight in the back, the front tires are going to wear more due to the camber. If you have 2 people up front and loaded, there will be more even wear.

Obviously, adjust the camber to spec, but be aware of it, and rotate the tires more often to keep the wear more even. Also depends on how much you are daily driving.

The camber is adjustable? I've never seen a proceedure for that. I thought only the toe-in was adjustable.

With the Pinz suspension, Toe-in effects Camber.
So indirectly you can adjust the Camber via a Toe-in adjustment.
