6m/m Brake Line & Fittings

Post by 712 Walt »

Has anyone found a supplier of 6m/m brake line & fittings? I need a nut, Short piece of line and a coupler. Local and on-line suppliers want to sell 1/4" line and fittings and have me convert everything.

Thanks for the suggestion. I called Fedhill, they only had 6 m/m nuts, no tube and most imprtantly no couplings.

I can make most of the hard lines, have a small supply of used fittings, and the proper hydraulic flare tool 8)
Bring your bad line up to Berdoo and we can fix it right up

I had to get my kits from a Rover supplier from England, don't remember the name, but they were on eBay UK. Maybe one of the UK Pinzers will chime in with more information.

If your just looking to fix the one pipe, do yourself a favor and just go see Jim.

Just in case anyone else is interested, in getting some to have on hand, here's the only info I got.

The packaging says:

AUTOMEC
Copper Nickle Brake Pipe
CNF006 - 6mm x 7.62mtrs (about 25' - I figured 2 kits to redo all the brake and hydraulic pipe on a 712)

Each Kit came with 12 nuts for the 6mm pipe I think they are 10mm thread.

and this is printed on the pipe:

4013 6.0 mm x 0.71 mm CN102 ECT BS EN 12449 BS 2871 16:00 249/5 (repeatedly)

AUTOMEC's website:

http://www.mamut.net/automec/

That's all I got, Miles

I think you'll find Miles that the Pinny Inverted Flare Nuts are 12x1 mm not 10x1.....Haflingers use 10x1

While Double Flare kits are common (Rothenberger and SnapOn are good units) and the Bundy Tubing is also readily available (here at least) 12x1 flare nuts are pretty rare, so I imported a box of 50 from FAG Germany when I was rebuilding my Pinzgauer.
