Hi just purchased a set of rear brake cylinder's for my 712 from .............
The threads in the cylinder (female) have no bite and strip away very easily
has anyone encountered this , what is the fix
these were in the 50 dollar range each from a regular distributer
the oem's are over 300 dollars each I have been quoted
I put the original cylinder's back on and it snugs up very nicely
all the way around
Any suggestions please
thanks

Take them back or you could helicoil (threaded inserts) the threads!
Rather than replace the old worn slaves, I've found the best and cheapest alternative is to stainless steel line the bores .....around $40-50 here in Australia.
Stainless steel lined bores will last for decades.
