Castor(Tire Wear)...

Post by Roverchef »

Do all Pinzy's(710) wear the outside of the tire alot more then the inside? Is there a way to set the castor. It is both front and rear...not just the front. Actually it seems to be more on the rear then the front. Stock rims and 285/75/16. Thanks in advance!

It 's camber, not caster... It is normal for all swing axles vehicles. The camber decreases as more weight is added to the suspension.
Wider the tires , the worse it is. That is why tires must be rotated on the rims to even the wear on the inside.

Thanks for the correction(castor/camber). That's what I thought. Within 3k miles I have noticed the tire wear and just wanted to make sure I wasn't mis'n something. Thanks!

On the other hand, if you drive 90% off road, they wear pretty evenly. I usually wear tires out before needing to flip them on the rims myself. Same exact tire size on stock rims.

Don't you usually have people in that back of them to flatten the camber?
It is all about contact surface

If the uneven tire wear issue bothers you too much and you do not carry too much load with your Pinz you can take
out one of your rear coil springs per side. That will correct the camber while the truck is empty especially with the light 710M.
