Are the inner tie rod ends supposed to be angled??

Issues with shocks/springs, tires, steering box, stopping, etc.

Are the inner tie rod ends supposed to be angled??

Post by audiocontr »

Im pretty sure I found my issue. The inner tie end rod bolts are bent, one towards the front, one toward the rear. Are they supposed to be angled like this or should they be completely straight up and down?

Are you talking about the tie rods themselves being bent? The tie rod end threaded rod sections and the tubular connector should be straight. See here: http://www.pinzgauer.com/parts.php?cat= ... view=05-05

Well no. Im speaking of the bolts that run up and down on the tie rod ends, connected to the steering components. The bolt that passes through 31, 32 and 33. Mine are bent. One side to the front, one to the rear. Looks like i need new inside tie rod ends as thats not really a bolt that passes through the bushings, its the whole end.

That's right! Somebody bent your junk. They should be straight "Bolts" as you call them. A little tip when you get your new tie-rod ends before you install them...drill a small hole on the top flat surface and tap it for a zert fitting so you can grease it and it will last 10x as long as the factory ones. I don't know why they didn't do this from the factory. You remember high school right...who the hell want to "Dry-Hump". Just my .02
