INCORRECT LUGNUTS - MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE

Post by ExpeditionImports »

Hi Guys,

I cannot stress enough how important it is to use the proper lug nut on the Pinzgauer.

This weekend Brian was traveling with a new truck to us and stopped in at Goatwerks. The previous owner of the truck had installed some "new" lug nuts because the old ones were looking a bit weathered.

The proper lug nut for the Pinzgauer requires a BALL SEAT ONLY. If you install a conical lugnut, the surface area contact with the wheel is wrong and can have a number of negative implications.....Wheels can easily loosen, and have the potential to actually split the wheel.

If you are replacing your lug nuts, regardless of the vendor, you need to check them very carefully prior to use. You may save yourself $2.50 a nut, but do not accept a conical lug nut for your application.

Cheers,

Scott
