Leak at paarking break rubber boot

Post by ziegler »

I've got a good oil leak at the park brake rubber boot and just forward at the diff lamp switch cone. I had the parking beak internals replaced last year but never replaced the parking break rubber boot or the gasket for the diff lamp sensor. Would replacing these two items fix the leak? thanks Zig

There should be no oil in the parking brake housing. It runs dry. The boot on the actuator shaft is to seal out dust. Suspect that the seal(s) between the rear differential housing and the parking brake flange is leaking and allowing fluid into the parking brake.
