They look good!
Extra 1/2" is great, not too much but enough to give just a little wider stance

I agree - since many of us run tires about 33 inches tall instead of the stock 31 inches tall, the additional offset outwards helps to keep the tire's contact patch in the correct place.

Haf-e wrote:Test fit them on my pinz - no problems. Can't imagine that a 15 inch rim would clear the tie-rod ball joint BTW.

I checked the backspacing again - looks like they sit further out by 1/2 of an inch / 12 mm.
15 inch fit, I put the 15 inch ones on off my work Transit for a test before buying the 16 inch ones that are on my Pinz now. Didn't measure the clearance, but there was some.

Was looking at the goat works site and saw a picture there of a prototype Pinzgauer rim with the brake adjustment holes in them - was trying to remember who mentioned this idea and the concern about cracks forming...

Image

The trail ready rims seems to provide access to the brake adjustment hole if they are "clocked" properly to leave access.

If the holes are machined in a suitable manner and given a slight chamfer on both sides the chances of cracks forming *should* be reduced.

Normally sharp edges or angle ground holes the form sharp edges or non-circular shapes are where crack propagations start.

Trail ready rims showed today. Long back order for the Pinz pattern , powdercoat, holidays etc. Ive been driving the Pinz for over a month and ordered the wheels before it shipped from the East Coast. Easily mounted the tires today, remember to install bolt in style valve stems first!

Well, I have pics but apparently too big to post grrrrr

That's the dog wagon!

There was a straight on pic I emailed Larry showing the offset ( still cant get them to post here from my phone) and the tire is even with the oem wood rub rail. They seem to be the biggest tire to stuff under a stock pinz. Anything larger would rub off road mounted on these wheels.

I have been driving it alot lately and working on a few mods. Cant wait for some of Andre's side cages to show up and then take out East for a weekend ;)

Thanks for posting the pics.

I like the black wheels with the OD green rings - looks great that way for some reason. I remember that Compunerdy over in Wenatchee did the opposite - I think I like this way more... but both look really nice!

Absolutely amazing. Would love this identical setup. Just have to wait a decade for the Canadian dollar to rebound.......
