One of the prev owners had the seats reupholstered. They look nice, but the front passenger seat doesn’t have anything within the frame so the cushion sets right on top of the engine cover and the sheet metal. As you can imagine, the person sitting there is leaning to the right. Did that seat originally have any framework to prevent this(similar to the driver seat)?
Also, the rear seats have been reupholstered as well, but the bottoms just set on the framework. They don’t wedge in so when you fold the seats over, they fall out. How were they originally secured?

How would an ice-age end without global warming?
Re: Seats
The front passenger seat should have a steel frame fastened to the bottom. The frame has 2 hooks in the front that engage the metal stand-offs welded to the chassis under the seat. The frame has a hole at the rear that sits on another metal stand-off that has a threaded hole in it for a wing bolt.

Re: Seats
I was asking about what’s within the frame. I see yours has to pieces of flat steal welded in( four shiny bolts with washers and four unused holes). Did you weld those in for your seats?
The middle of the seat is my concern.

Re: Seats
Yes, the flat bars were welded in for mounting aftermarket seats. My original frames had the factory upgraded bottom seat cushions which have a plywood board with clips that snap over the frame tubing. I really don't remember how the original seat bottoms were secured to the frame.

Re: Seats
That’s what my seat is like.
Do you get complaints from your passenger? When I sit there, I can feel the edge of the engine cover and it makes me lean to the right.
Maybe there’s something wrong with my seat. It was reupholstered by a previous owner and something might have been done incorrectly.

I sat there a couple of times while working, can't remember any difference between driver and passenger seat,
