Custom Soft Top Metal grommet source?

Post by OOCustoms »

Hi, I'm working on a one-off custom soft top for a 712M, and can't seem to find a source for the rectangular metal grommets that affix the top to the front edge of the windshield. SAV lists them, but they are out of stock. :? Has anyone out there come across a source for anything similar? All the grommet manufacturers I've talked to think I'm nuts as soon as I start talking about anything that's not circular! :|

You could try contacting tuffriverstuff.com. They make Pinz covers and must have a reliable source for those grommets.

This is one for a VW Thing is the same as a 404 Mog but not 100% about the Pinz!
Hopefully, others that still have their 404 and a Pinz can verify

Paul may have the best idea re: TuffRiver!
You do need a special tool to punch them down
