Dumb question from the new guy again
Dumb question from the new guy again
Does the front wide rollbar come off like the rear on a 710m? It looked welded. It's hard to tell I was thinking of having this along with the rear and cross members powdercoated.
Re: Dumb question from the new guy again
yes it does. Only real difference is the attachment points for the front canvas and the cargo separation cage. You can put the roll bars in either location they will just be short the hardware that is specific to their locations.

Thanks! I'm choosing to powder coat as much as I can because he will sand blast beforehand. Saves me a ton of sanding, especially in the hard to reach crevices and rust spots. Any downside to powder coating instead of paint?
Re: Dumb question from the new guy again
Only issue with powder coating is its hard to touch up and rust can spread under it once it's penetrated. There are some two step processes which prevent the rust issue I hear - I know a local place does some kind of immersion process that coats the internal areas even.
My preference is hot dip galvanizing but it can end up with an ugly texture and all the threaded holes need to be re-tapped afterwards - also paints don't stick to it well either.

Makes everything look like it was stamped out of guardrail.
