710K (71) roof and hoops rust.

Has anyone else had the top of their 710K detach itself from the frames and begin to surface rust in those parts.....It looks like I will have to drill out all the spot welds and take off the top skin ?? to fix this problem...or is there any easier way? I see that the top is glued to the roof hoops.....or was glued......when repaired I,m wondering if I should use some small bolts in this area or even rivets when I put it back together.
