Cab divider question

Post by Banshee35 »

Forgive my ignorance but it's cold and the vinyl isn't real pliable so I thought I would ask before I tried it.

So I was looking at my new to me 710M and noticed the rolled up cab divider in my truck. I thought this would be awesome in the winter to try and keep the little bit of heat in the cab. When I rolled it down I noticed two problems.

1. The footman loops and not sure what other hardware needed to secure the cab divider had been removed from the bulkhead at some point. I can make guesses on placement based on holes but does anybody have good pics of what hardware should be there so I can order the proper replacements?

2. It would appear that the cab divider wraps around the back/ends of the cab and would use the same mounting points as the rear cargo area canvas cover. Is it possible to run the cab divider down with the tops on or is it just for when running as a "pickup"?

Thanks in advance
Eric

Here are a few photos that may help:

Parts are illustrated here: https://swissarmyvehicles.com/pinzgauer ... p-hardware

The bulkhead has no additional hardware, just 4 holes for the hooks to to go in to. I added extra snaps to keep the divider a bit tighter and less drafty.
The side flaps of the cab divider have to be folded to the inside when attaching the rear top.

Thanks for the quick reply and photos!

So the hooks just go into holes and not footman loops then? So what are the footman loops for? (Mine are missing)

Like I said, it’s cold and vinyl isn’t very pliable to play with so I didn’t want to mess with it if it wasn’t a possibility.

So you just fold back the sides then if the top is installed?

I saw a post where somebody had placed magnets in the bottom of the cab divider and may go that route rather than drilling extra holes to do the snaps like you did.

The footman loops on the back of the bulkhead were for stowage of the canvas. There are short tubes on each side front and rear in the bed for longitudinal bars. You can see the front right one in the pic above.

While on the subject of “what the heck are these?”

What are the lighter green rifle rack looking things visible in your second photo on the left hand side?

My truck has one set of them located more towards the back on the left side but I have no idea what they’re for and the manual yielded no results.

My understanding is that they were intended to be rifle racks.
That Pinz didn't come with them installed but I added them for carrying shovels, rakes, fishing rods, etc..

They certainly look like rifle racks and that was my first thought but mine only came with one set of them so it wouldn't be very effective :D

Now I feel like I need to find another one
