What is this for?

Can't find this in the schematics........is it a block for the tire swing?
Correct, when you swing the door, the spare tyre and this support act as the stop. On mine there also a chain from te mounting plate of the spare that can be hooked in a hole below the support. The chain prevents the door from closing.
