Two bolts in the upper part of the front window side rail, pair on each side about 6 inches apart.
Before I mess with them I would like to know the purpose for them.
Thanks,
Morris

The Austrian "M"s have a differnt release system for the front tops, and a clamp is mounted to each side. It is also used for the front support for a "over the cab" rack, and/or tire mount when a speciality body is fitted to a "T" .
If you don't like that answer, I can invent one more imaginative than Erik's.
Those mounting holes have been used for several different things, as aftermarket accessories company see a use

Thanks Dave,
I have seen you in action and I have no doubt you can come up with something imaginative.
I just did not want to loosen them and find something slipped down inside.
There were bolts on the Mog windscreen that were best not messed with. Did not want a remake of that disaster with the pinz.
