Bracket behind driver

Post by djw »

Ok, can anyone share what the brackets behind the driver's seat (Aust. K model) mounted on the front of the cage are for? They're identical but one's left and right.

The brackets are just half black plastic boxes that stand off from the metal plates that sandwich the cage.

Everything that was not bolted down was sorta stripped out of this one making it a puzzle to figure out what some of the bits and pieces were for.

Thanks.

Looks to me to be mounting brackets for a jack. I'm not sure as both sides are identical, but my jack is mounted in similar brackets.

The pinz jack is mounted behind the passenger seat.

This came from the Austrian military that way. Did they have some additional jack??

Are the brackets wide enough to store the window glass in for summer driving?

I learned from Richard in Austria that these are for the required Euro breakdown triangle.

Mystery solved.

I was wondering about those myself. Now I can remove them with a clean conscience. :)
