canvas top patch

canvas top patch

I have a pin hole and a half inch cut in my canvas top. What is the best method of patching these.....Should I use a piece of the old canvas top. thanks again Zig

Personally, yes use a piece of original
material if you have it. Apply a good vinyl glue to both halves, let it dry and then firmly press it on. The rubber cement glue type adhesive seems to work best for me.

There are a couple methods, but many guys seem to use HH-66 vinyl cement. I used two products made by the same company, one for canvas and one for vinyl, which also worked well. Both are translucent products. When used on canvas tops, and really pressed down, they are somewhat hard to see.
