Ive got 2 more bumpers to get out and 2 trucks to finish assembly. My truck is due for new canvas and that is when I will be working on the hardtop set up as the metal should cost 25% of the cost of new canvas(labor not included).

As for the serbian window wagon. I like it! Wish I had the same level of composite fabrication skills as I do Metal.

I want that Serbian hardtop setup for my Pinz. Looks awesome to me.

I recently revisited the Serbian quick top video to aid in my design.

I like the big windows but without ventilation, you have a greenhouse.

I believe smaller, sliding windows with screens would be the way to go.

I like the "C" channel idea with removable sides, from the outside. I may make them just like old pick up truck, camper hatches. with a twist handle to secure.

I will use the stock bows unless I reinforce the roof to support weight and run a lugage rail around the top(roof rack/hard top combo)

the Serbian truck has all the roll member canvas holes filled on the front roll bar and the cap only covers the front opening over the cab and the bed. Neither overlaps the other. The front roll member would need to be made weather proof for the system to work.

I like the rear roll member with the wing windows but I would rather have those spaces for extra jerry cans.

Yeah it looks like it would leak esp between the front roll bar and the front of the large roof panel.
Sliding windows would be nice.
If I got something like this then I am not sure I would want to put the softtop on again but I like the open back and sides in summer.
What about a hard top front and rear that soft sides could attach to - just a thought as I am not sure how many people ever remove the canvas vs just roll up the sides - just thinking out loud.

I think TechMogogy nailed it. Having a hard top with roll up sides would be the cat's meow for the hot summers down here allowing you to maintain airflow to offset the 1000 degree surface temp of the steel top in summer. Even if the sides didn't roll up, as long as there is some kind of provision to remove them that would suffice in my opinion. I really want to replace my top but I have a hard time justifying spending the money required with Tuff River. Especially since the vast majority of my time is spent with the sides rolled up anyway.

I have always been fond of the safari tops used on the older Land Rovers , those that had the double layers with an air gap between.

I had contemplated doing a hard top with roll up or zip out, soft sides but that negates the security that could have been provided with removable sides.
I too like an open back but the rear door upper will still lift out to enable air flow.

I had custom rear grates (made like the cab cage) on my first 710m that were great for lashing stuff against. this could provide security while still having fabric sides and rear. Even protects against getting bushwhacked. Good for dog owners to.

What would be cool would be a hard top with hard sides, and tracks over the top of the roof that guide the top edges of the sides; lift the bottom edges of the sides outwards and slide the whole side up over the fixed top. And there you go, self storing sides.

Is there no end to mods on these trucks? Imagination is all it takes.

X2 and each of is wants something just a little different than the next guy but that is what makes it a mod and why we all own vehicles like these.
I like all the ideas that can then be morphed into each persons design

Then you couldn't store gear on the roof unless you had a rack over the top of it.

Ill give you trade credit on your top. That color looks good with my blue truck.
