I am in the process of painting my pinz. I have taken all the hooks off the side. The were attached with pop rivs. I don't like how they look, especially from the inside. Has anyone else used anything that looks better? I am thinking of an allen head bolt with lock washers/nuts on them.

I still use rivets. I just get shorter ones that don't stick out as much on the inside. If you can borrow the Air rivet gun, it makes the job allot easier.
My only other choice would be counter-sunk, SS, oval head machine screws and nuts. Pricey in comparison to the rivets.

As Andre says...shorter rivets. Paint the inside to match your interior colours.
A box of 50 rivets and back washers shouldn't be over $15 to do the whole thing. Get an extra box ... you're going to need 54.
I bet SS screws, nuts and washers will cost a lot more.

Countersunk M4 Stainless Steel with M4 Fender Washer and Nylock. The hardware to do a truck will be less than $18 for 100 pieces of each item - (Mcmaster)
It's more labor intensive, but looks much nicer.
Cheers,
Scott

Thanks for the ideas. I called Mcmasters. Actually got M5 countersunks in black with the washers and nyloks. Looks great. I painted my hooks black, thus the black screws.
