Swiss Pinzgauer Plate

Post by jrcotner »

I've noticed a few trucks with a front mounted plate with the Swiss flag and the word "Pinzgauer" underneath. I've looked at the usual dealer sites and haven't found any. Where do you get one of these?
Thanks,

These are easy to make. Just make a stencil on you computer, made to match the dimensions of the plate, and hit it with a Rattle can. The words are easy enough too. I did the Canadian flag and it cost about $10 for two cans of paint.

I made a homebrew version out of stainless steel and it looks more homemade than I'd like. Was hoping for something more professional looking than I am capable of.

If wait a bit my front and rear plates will most likely be on eBay in a couple months (no guarantee I will sell them but that is my thought right now - truck is in Cali and will be shipped up to Canada later this year).
Will post an eBay link in the classifieds if they go up.
Cheers,
Dan

I've got family in the sign business. I will get him on it and you all can order directly from him.

I had a custom sign company make fiberglass ones for me for $29.00 each. They came out awesome and have held up great.

Before someone starts making them wrong Again... They should read Armée Suisse
1st company that made them did them wrong and sold them to everyone!

(sorry pinzi73 but your Swiss is spelled wrong too - not trying to be an ass because your signs are nice just pointing out the errors)
Just do them in English "Swiss Army"

Good to know. The company that did mine can easily correct the text. For $29 I'm not to worried.

Thanks for the correction

That is good news and like you said for $29 (and fiberglass) they should get lots of orders - I actually want a set in English

As a (repeat) side comment, the one in the picture is neither in English, nor in French...
The correct spelling and order of words in French is "Armée suisse" (you should ditch the accent writing in all capitals).
"Suisse Armee" is wrong, and "Swisse Armee" is equally wrong but funnier...
Now if you're after the real thing, "Schweizer Armee" (in German, no accent) would be it: Native languages in Switzerland are 66% German, 23% French... and 8% Italian, which also leaves "Esercito svizzero" as the last official option.
