Fresh coat of Paint on the Pinz
Re: Fresh coat of Paint on the Pinz
Very nice...seems a shame to take it out and get it dirty, doesn't it?

A new paint job is never finished until you take it out an properly "pin stripe" it! Looks good.

Very very nice. I especially like the refinished rub rails. What color do you have on the truck? It seem close to a Carc green. We went with a Panzer green on the 712. A little more on the gray side. Great job!

Re: Fresh coat of Paint on the Pinz
The paint was sent via a friend from Europe, the original green, but the wife and I really did not like the color, so I had some black added to it, as she and I both liked a darker green. Now she wants the inside painted
When I cleaned the rub rails they were perfect and the wood looked to nice to paint green again, and I like the wood contrast, so I just put a clear protective coat on them.
One day they will be removed for a entire roll cage and roof rack to be added along with the Winch system.

I like where the picture was taken, lots of good times there!

Yeah. That was way back before I knew I worked for a thief. Besides the finances, that was a great time when owners got together ALLOT and went EVERYWHERE.

Re: Fresh coat of Paint on the Pinz
Andre, when you mention 'thief' are you referring to deadbeat Theo Hanson? I feel sorry for anyone who gets suckered into doing business with Theo Hanson! He wrote me a bad check for a Pinzgauer which was never made good, and I never got the truck back either (VIN 5753452, 1974 710M).

Well if you have a VW STAY THE HELL away from Dave's VW in Hemet, he promised to rebuild my VW Engine in a month for my 66 Split Window Bus, over 4 1/2 months later he finally finished- so he said- it was gushing out oil before I even got it home 15 miles away.
