Re: My Pinzgauer is undergoing a civilian face lift
Today is a big work blast and there has been lots of progress. I will try and get pics of it this weekend. I am not the best at taking pictures and it is kind of jammed in the corner. I am just glad it has a inside parking spot. So anyhow, stay tuned.

I am in awe, Sir.
What part of colorado are you in? I've GOT to see this thing when it's done.

Yeah, what Peter said.Anything further on this project
Anybody got an idea what part of the Rocky Mountains Westy is from? I was reading on a hotrod forum about someone concerned about a deposit they got for a Craigslist sale where the buyer hadn't shown up for a couple weeks. Turns out, the guy was helping family members evacuate from fires in Colorado.
Hey Westy, are ya okay? And what about that cool truck?

Re: My Pinzgauer is undergoing a civilian face lift
So it was a super hot summer and really busy. The Splitzgauer went into storage last May and only saw a couple visits since. Today we brought it back over to the shop and started getting a plan together for Round two. It still needs a bunch of work. Hopefully by next Spring it will see a couple days out. So I will start putting some updates and pictures up over the next few months. Thanks for the interest.

Ok, so here are some recent pictures of the progress. It has been getting a lot of attention over the past month.

This is in my top 3 favourite builds of all time and I am glad to see things moving right along once again. Thought of your truck when I seen this pic and I thought I would share it with you for some added inspiration

Amazing work. Thanks for posting it.
Arent you a little worried about that winch mount though? The approach angle is pretty severe and will kill progress in lots of situations.

Yeah it was definitely a concern and a consideration. in the process. It has been a while since I saw a regular Pinzgauer. How tall is the front hitch pin, the bottom? I am probably two inches longer in the front and I have 24 inches of clearance below the front fairlead. It probably won't see as much trail running as some 710's. I have been thinking about making the Splitzgauer a little buddy. Like maybe a Baja Bug on a 710 chassis. I know one project at a time.
Re: My Pinzgauer is undergoing a civilian face lift
Just wanted to say thanks for the update - I have been wondering what's been happening with this project.
The build quality looks good - keep it up!
