Bottle jack options?

Build projects, things that guys have come up with to make a Pinz better (or worse?) and aftermarket add-ons.

Bottle jack options?

Post by kdiqq »

My pinz sadly had all of its gear swiped before it was auctioned off and I'm looking to at least replace the bottle jack and tire iron so I'm not left stranded with a flat. Anyone who has a factory bottle jack, could you snap a picture and tell me the body diameter and collapsed height? I'm trying to find a comperable replacement that will fit in the factory holder. If anyone has a suggestion for a replacement, that would work killer too!

Also, where is the tire iron normally stored? Greatly appreciate the help!

I can't measure mine right now, but look for "pinzgauer wagenheber" images online- there were a few pictures with tape measures for scale. Unfortunately I also found where you original kit ended up-

The bottle jack which came with my 2002 Freightliner Sprinter is extremely similar to the stock Pinzgauer jack - I'll check with a friend who has a 2005 Dodge Sprinter to see if it was supplied with the same one.

The only difference is that the Sprinter jack doesn't have the rounded plate on the bottom - I'll take a picture of them side by side to compare.

The tire iron (cross type) seems to be usually located in the tool box behind the battery box.

If I remember correctly, the original jack was made by Weber (https://www.weber-hydraulik.com/en/homepage/) for Steyr. It is somewhat unique in that it has both an upper "saddle" and a curved base plate.

I'll try to get some photos in a bit and post them.

Great info everyone! PM replied. Looks like I was able to secure a OEM jack :D

Seeing as the tire iron is the normal 4-size, I will just grab one from HF or something. I know where mine was mounted, so I should finally be able to be comfortable driving anywher now haha
