I need to lock the centrifugal advance out of the dizzy. Has anyone done this? If so, kindly describe the process.
Thanks
Dizzy advance lockout
Re: Dizzy advance lockout
OK, I figured it out. Do not remove distributor. Remove points top plate (3 screws around the outside body). Remove weights and use shorter springs to lock
the shaft into static position. Remove vacuum line and block off port.

Re: Dizzy advance lockout
Why remove vacuum line? It's not vacuum advanced. Vacuum functions as a way to gently pull out moisture. Be careful, it's not full vacuum, it's slight based on an obstruction in the 90degree rubber boot. My rubber boot dry rotted, so I used a ball valve slightly opened to allow for the right amount of vacuum.
You're going to collect moisture in the distributor ca without it.

Thank you for that info about that vacuum line. I'll hook that back up.
