Nice sticker. 8)

Why not powder-coat it? Looks like it'd be ideal for that, being all fresh and bare. It would last a lot longer in the Ca. sun too. I usually have my bumpers, handles, etc. coated but when I had my Gwagen's rear bumperettes sand-blasted, I tried to save a few dollars and did a careful paint job but still, a few years later, I regret it. They are already fading and more than one little surface rust spot has appeared because they scratch so easy. My front bumper that Andre built is still looking like new, which was coated.

Minimum two week wait for powder coating so I decided to rattle can it after spraying some Rapco chromate primer.

I guess I should have planned this earlier. I want to fabricate some kind of cooking surface to the swing away. Any idea are welcome.

Maybe you should be glad you didn't think of that cooking surface -- mighty close to that 20L Jerry can -- no? Kaboom

Curious, you must now be close to 200lbs on that Spindle. Worried about the cantilever force when your backside hits (or falls)
an obstacle? Could be a fair amount of G-force there. Wondering how you anchored on the latch side and provided torque
strength -- can't see that clearly in the PIX's.

Looks mighty nice though!

When swing away is closed there is no weight on the spindle. I elevate it about a 1/16 of inch on to the pad, then lock it in place. There is definitely 200 lbs on it when fully loaded without trash bag.
