Yes, those are the Scheel Mann seats.
Love 'em. I can't compare them to other- more affordable brands as they are the only ones I've tried, but they were very comfortable for the drive from San Francisco to Port Townsend. Seem to be very durable fabric too. I especially like that they don't have high bolsters on the seat sides. So much easier to slide in and out in the raised truck.

The chap in San Diego is still parting out Smart Car Fortwo's so I picked
up a set of seats for my 712 project.

Plan is to use the lower portion of the Pinz seat frame and weld these
seats in as others have. But...I'm wondering how far down does one strip
down the Seat frames? The PIX's on this thread don't match the seats I
have 100%, there may be variations. From what I can see, I need to take
apart the ball-bearing sliders, retain the top portion of the slider only
and re-bolt that back onto the Seat. If I don't the seat has no solid base,
but that just looks different than the PIX's on the tread so I thought I'd ask.

Ill be interested to see how you mount your seats. I still haven’t mounted mine. Too many projects and not enough time.

personally I mount mine with the frame only. never understand the idea of keeping the sliders and sitting a couple inches higher. with seat backs that actually lean forward and as small as the cab is in a pinz there really is no need to slide seat forward and back. I want the seat pan of the "donor" seat sitting as close to the pinz floor as possible. no complaints to date and have done a dozen or so modifications for folks.

This is the part that seems different that what others have encountered.

I just tried to post pics of my Smart seat install. Keep getting HTTp error.

Ya, I had trouble just posting text this morning, after submit I was taken to page
which then barfed up a fair amount of HTML error messages, although the posting
went through anyway.

These rails are not easy to take apart, PIX below. I got my trusty angle grinder out
and lopped of one end of the bottom slider and that was enough to get the ball bearings
and other bits to come out freeing the slide to separate. I could not figure out what was
holding these in place. It should become a bit more evident why I need the top part of
the slider in the next PIX. The slider bolts together the bottom seat and hing for the backrest.
Now apart, the top portion of the slider is below. Two M6 Torx screws, one front and
one back attach the seat bottom. Two M8 Torx screws in the back attach to the seat
back hing. Without this member the seat parts would not be joined at the hing.
Yes the Pinz frame is upside down and I have not ground off the back frame yet, but it's
in position to show that this should work using the top portion of the slider. There is a
piece of steel looks like a handle in the center of that rail, that needs to be cut that is
interfering that was part of the rail interlock mechanism -- kiss that good by.
Although I think this is perhaps 1/2" higher than would be the case W/O this
member, there's lots more places to weld to. Torn between Torch brazing versus MIG,
my MIG is a POS though gotta figure out how to heat shield the fabric.

for heat shield I am fortunate enough to still have some lead sheet. I use it a lot to keep sparks and heat away from things I don't want to get too hot. It is very moldable and real easy to form into any shape I need. even make it fit between material and supports when needed. works better then my fire blankets.
