front wheel hub steps
front wheel hub steps
i'm looking to add hub steps to my truck and these two seem to be the best. i can't decide which is better and would like to hear from those who have experience with either of them to see which is best.

Re: front wheel hub steps
The first style (Cold War Remarketing) are the most popular, and less expensive.
The second example which is from T-lo's is more expensive but IMHO a better design.
I do have several sets of the first type. They are OK, my biggest complaint would be
the length is too long by about 2", sticking out there playing interference when you
don't want it to. T-Lo's are shorter and he has eliminated the need for a neoprene
spacer for that snug fit to the hub. if I had it to do over again I'd spring for T-Lo's.

Re: front wheel hub steps
I've tried both and T-Lo's are the best, no question. Pricier but well worth it in my opinion. The craftsmanship and quality of finish is evident.

Re: front wheel hub steps
thank you both for the reply. now that i have a decision, T-Lo's phones are out of service and i'm having trouble contacting him . i'll try email.
Re: front wheel hub steps
can one of you please tell me how many inches the step sticks out from the flange?
Re: front wheel hub steps
The other style of hub step is 4" -- measured the same way Paul did.
That one inch shorter would make a big difference in obstacle interference IMHO.

Re: front wheel hub steps
thank you guys so much. you both are awsome
Re: front wheel hub steps
I don't have any experience with the T-Lo step, but I have lived with the Cold War hub steps on my 710K for over a decade. As my daily-driver with tens of thousands of off-road miles clocked I can say that the length of the steps has never been an issue with obstacles. Furthermore, for the 10-20 times a day that I'm in/out of the driver's seat I wouldn't want the step any shorter. There's no neoprene on mine and the steps fit tightly.
