Smartcar seat airbags

Build projects, things that guys have come up with to make a Pinz better (or worse?) and aftermarket add-ons.

Smartcar seat airbags

Post by edj710k »

Did anyone ever figure out how to remove the smartcar seat airbags safely or find instructions that don't cost money?

I figured it out. You pop open the lower back of the seat cover, which is connected with a sort of hooked seam you can pry apart. Then you peal up the back until you reveal the 3 nuts holding on the airbag, and the one connecter. Remove the nuts, pull out the connector and then you can pull out the whole airbag unit.

Thanks for this, I am going to have to try it out. Been riding with these things and never felt good about it...

Did this over the weekend. Was able to remove the airbags and then put the plastic housing back in the seat, so it looks like it did, just no surprises.

Very easy to do
