I've got some Pinzgauer jerrycan holders for sale - designed for the TD models but didn't look right on my 710K

sounds like what you are looking for is something like this only for a small cooler. I made this for those times when you knew you were going to be out longer than the fuel onboard was not enough but did not want to carry the extra can all the time. I also have a table that works much the same for those picnic times

It is a German military food container.(NSN 7330-12-124-9866, if that helps at all  ) Mine is dated 1965.
If you look at the pic of the tire/gerry can holder, you can see the gerry can and food container are modeled off each other. But bewared, the food container will only fit on "squared off" holders, not ones tapered for the filler.
Also on the pic of the tire carrier, those are adapter kits for Euro gerry cans from Or Fab
http://www.orfab.com/details.php?Applic ... le=ADAPTER KIT FOR NON-LIP GAS CAN &Active=Yes
Actual are a very nice kit that could be bolted to any vehicle for mounting gerry cans. The carrier is designed for 2 cans, and I only wanted to carry a spare 5 gallon of gas, so the 2nd location was ideal for the food container( and looks proper :D ).

OK,
I have located the source for these containers, and have arranged to pick up some in a couple days. As it stands right now, they look to be $30 each plus UPS. You can go to UPS.com and put in your zip code and 91006 (as the ship from), and 18lbs for the weight each to figure your cost. I have no idea how many are available, or condition until I go there. PM me if you want any.

I'd have to second the nomination for Andre. He has the skills to weld lexan to a cucumber. Give him an idea of what you want and you'll get a bulletproof version of it showing up on your ride.

The gas can sized "cooler" is not a Mermite can. It is a German surplus hot food container that was sold on the US market about 10 years ago. They were everywhere for awhile. They are insulated and included either three aluminum inner containers or one large one with a stir and ladle. Very well made. I still have an extra one if someone wants it. $35.00 plus shipping from Ohio.
