My Pinzgauer is undergoing a civilian face lift

Build projects, things that guys have come up with to make a Pinz better (or worse?) and aftermarket add-ons.

Man I would like to see the faces of the people as you roll down to your local VW car show and swap meet for some spare parts!

Congratulations, this looks great! The front doors are huge...

It seemed to me at first that you were re-inventing the UAZ-452 van, but with western DNA. But I'm sure you truck will be much better off-road and will look sooooo much cooler ;)

Excellent work if it was only a 6x6 it would be perfect. Actually it has that monster truck look to it as 4x4 and is perfectly proportioned!

I am going to make a saddle tank for each side. Total of 20 gallons or so.

This thing is awesome!! I admire your courage to take on a project like this and hope you have the time and budget to get it done by your deadline. The only down side I can see is going to be visibility, especially out the front. How do you see your seating position compared to the pinz? What is the overall height of this beast?

Well, I am going to put screen behind the VW emblem. I am a little concerned if this will be enough air flow. But I think it should work. Going 15 mph in 2nd gear up a mountain pass doesn't generate much ram air so my guess is they get a bit of air from underneath the vehicle and such. I have a cylinder head temp gauge. If I need more cooling, I will figure something out.

I am not sure what the overall height is right now and I may still adjust the height.

Visibility is pretty good. Maybe the Pinz was a little better. The seat moves forward about six inches and inboard about two inches. It is actually really comfortable. I need to position the brake and clutch pedal soon.
