I was looking for something duel purpose, winching and to push over small trees and/or Yugos!

Has anyone ever used a "nose ring" connected to the pintle mount and used that as a platform to install a removable winch platform? Once u install the nose ring you can use a standard receiver hitch winch mount. Been thinking about putting that together on my Pinz!

I thought about it. Was told that for straight pull it was OK but side pulls might be an issue. Got my 9.5K winch from EI. The roller fairleads make it a non issue for me.
Can double the power with a snatch block.

Andre Swanson (Fat Fabrications) built my winch platform to plug into either the front or rear 2" receiver on my 712. I carry it in the front receiver, but have only used it once in the rear to pull a stump in a friend's yard.
Morris has a point, it is probably better in this situation to pull head (or tail) on without much side stresses. Here in the Cascades, a tree is almost universally available, so that is not a problem!
The other nice thing about the removable winch is that I can leave it home when I won't be off road. Keeps it dry and saves hauling the weight.
