Sprinter/Freightliner Seats on eBay

Build projects, things that guys have come up with to make a Pinz better (or worse?) and aftermarket add-ons.

The Sprinter seats do have a recline capability. I don't fine them particularly heavy compared to the stock seats. I'd never go back to the stock seats given the option of more modern higher back seats. Sprinter or otherwise. It's sort of a no brainer given how cheap they are and how easy thet are to install.

Derek,

Any quote on shipping to the Great White North?

Might just be a deal-breaker for something that size!

I never asked....but since you are in TO, you could get them shipped to a UPS store in the States and grab them there. I do that in Ogdensburg, NY. The UPS store is about 50 minutes for me.

I just ordered a couple of these seats. Any chance I could get one of you that have installed them to PM me (or post) some pix of your work?

Thanks!

Interesting discussion, and thanks for the photos. From someone who has installed these: what is the measurement from the "deck" to the top of the bottom sitting surface. I'm only 6' 5", so every millimeter counts.
thanks

I used the original seat frames and mine measure 8" from the deck to the top of the seat just under the steering wheel. The side bolsters are slightly higher. The rest of the seat bottom is lower than the front edge. Building a custom mount for the seats might result in a shorter height.

I used 92 Honda seats from a salvage yard. $35 ea. Made a platform to put them on and saved the original seats.
6 inches from wheel to seat, 8 inches high at front and 6 inches high at rear. http://s400.photobucket.com/albums/pp88 ... C00018.jpg
Photo angle makes them look off kilter, they are level.

I haven't looking for them in a while but they were a regular item on eBay at the time. Mine came out of Elkhart, IN, which is the RV capital of the US. Apparently the RV manufacturers were removing them in favor of something else for their customers.

There are other options on eBay for seats that replace Sprinter seats in those trucks...and seem to be pretty affordable. Same mods required for these as the stock sprinter seats I would suppose...

You have to bid, but there are lots, so you might get something like this for $135.
