Here are some photos of them installed in my '75 710M. They're not too hard to install using the original seat frames for mounting.

They are comfortable seats and don't increase your seating height by more than 1.5" or so.

How are you finding entry/exit?

When I had the Croatia truck its Recaros made getting in a pain, but the bolsters looked higher than those Sprinter seats, although those seat bases look thicker.

The clearance between the side bolster and the steering wheel is not too bad. Not as much room as with the stock seats but these bolsters have some give so it hasn't been an issue. My legs are probably average in size so someone with thicker legs will want to consider this.

Here are a couple of more photos that give a better idea of the clearance:

I'm also a strong advocate for use of the Sprinter seats. Once you go with them, you'll wonder why you waited so long to do so!

They look great! Being on the taller side, every inch counts  and I'd see my head impacting the roll bar. Its VERY close right now with my CRX seats and these appear slightly taller.

Anyone ever bring the Pinz seats to a good upholsterer? I have a guy close by that did wonders on a hard Russian motorcycle bench seat I had for my Ural.

I have the sprinter seats. I put them in because they are "safer" for current highway driving.
Guess I'm the only one who gets tired of taking those bulky, heavy seats in and out every time I need to wipe the condensation out of my distributor ( I know, there is a hose for that, ask me how it works.) They also move your body up a few inches so that watching a stop light when you're in the front of the line you have to do the goose-neck pose to look through the low windshield, (or have a midget riding shot gun and tell me when the light turns green).
What's wrong with the stock seats? Someone posted pictures a while back with a modification of adding a head rest to the original ones, looks nice and the seat actually fits out the door leaving your rear view mirror intact. The stock back folds enough that I can screw in the wing nut without having some one in the rear lining things up while I hold the seat. Oh, and I don't care about getting my oil/dirty hands on the stock ones, they wipe clean, unlike the sprinter Tuff Cloth seats.
Just my two cents.

Gotta agree TJ. Spent 10 years bouncin' around in US Army vehicles and I must say the comfort level of the 40 year old seats in a Pinz is SUPERIOR to NEW US military vehicles. I don't intend to change out mine.

Try a trip of 3400 miles and then tell me how your backside feels in those stock seats.

I'll admit it. I am still (with a total of 7 hours) a newbie driving this bad boy and FAR from comfortable. Perhaps when I get to the point where I am totally at ease I'll notice the seats. Not a problem yet!

Congrats on the new Pinz purchase! I'm glad you pulled the trigger Derek. We need to see photos and any extraordinary details from your road trip back home.

As Morris points out, once you've done any distance of driving at all in a Pinz, you'll understand the merits of swapping out the seats. I'm 6' and the Sprinter seats work fine for me. No trouble with removal for oil changes / dog house removal either.

I'm sticking with the original seats; I like their simplicity, plus it keeps the Pinz looking stock. I drive four hours at a stretch and they don't bother me at all.

Do the seats tilt forward to access the area behind them??
