USB ports for Cell, GPS, Etc charging

Post by compunerdy »

I found this for USB ports that will run off 24V. The description says 12-24v input and so does the pictures but the package only says 12v. I have it hooked up and its working at 24v so not sure what is up with the packaging.

I am going to mount mine in the hole the hand push washer pump was in since I changed mine to electric but that would not work for most as I think it would hit the stock headlight switch.

I just spoke with the vendor (Blue Sea Systems), and their technical service rep informs me the socket from Amazon (which I just purchased :( ) is not 24v compatible.

So they put 12v-24v right on the product by accident??

I tested it for hours at 24v and it worked fine and mine does not say 24v on it.

Believe me, I want it to work too.. I just got it from Amazon and was planning to install in the same washer-pump location. Here is a picture of what I got, when purchased with the link provided earlier in the thread:

I run my USB off the 12V converter. Never thought to try to run it off 24V. I take the 24V off the radio plug behind the co-driver seat for the converter.
The devices will run off 120 or 240 for the chargers. Check the manual and it also shows on the little tag that also shows the model number.
