Finally ... a proper introduction ... PICS

Post by Pinz710m2 »

I have been working away at getting my 710M in shape since I
got it almost 4 months ago. It's come a long way. One of the
only mistakes I've made so far was painting the new rub rails
with a Rustoleum primer, and then using a quality paint on top.
The quality paint peeled the primer right off the wood! lol I spent
the better part of today scraping, priming, and starting to paint the
rails again.

Well, here's the "unvailing". The wheels are correct, but due to some
machining problems they will be swapped out with an identical set
using black lug nuts and not the chrome ones.

I just touched up those peeling paint marks on the tool box, and you
can see I've replaced a bunch of fittings, cord, etc.

(for those who will ask ... those are Goodyear MTR 285/70R17 on the
17" GT wheels with locking rings from Tom Cepek.)

Ha. Ha. I didn't realize how much longer they were
until I compared them to another with the same wheels.
They stick out just the right amount and it's so much
easier to get in, especially when carrying stuff.

Very very nice job. One thing I did was paint the rub rails a darker brown paint that matches almost exactly the minwax dark walnut stain. It gives a really nice contrast to the rub rails and makes them really stand out against the trucks paint.
