Build projects, things that guys have come up with to make a Pinz better (or worse?) and aftermarket add-ons.

Bikmakr was nice enough to share his files which I edited to fit a Warn 24V Zeon 10 winch. We also adapted the design to attach to the bumper that was built and installed by a previous owner.

Pics below. I'm mounting the winch today and will post pics of finished product.

We had to use some square tube and clamps to hold the existing bumper sections in place while attaching to the nee winch mount.

Just something I noticed and have developed an eye for -- always the hard way

If you pulled straight into that Bay your camber is way off which would be a sign of a
need to adjust your Toe in.

If you had backed in or rolled backward 10' to 15' then it would be normal to have a
neg. camber.

Nice winch mount though

The bay that photo is taken in is actually two cars deep and we've pushed it back and forth several times around the shop while working on it. Your point is well taken though, which is check the alignment ;-) I've still got to swap out the front shocks (did rears already) and will do alignment after I get finished with rack and shocks.

Thanks for the tip! I always appreciate feedback and input. These machines are still pretty new and foreign to me. I love being able to benefit from the collective wisdom of the board. It saves a lot of heartache in the long run..

And while your winch mount extends downward onto the chassis member, the weak point in that member is the openings where the tie rods go through. With a really had pull downward from the winch the upper side of the tie rod openings can stretch (it is the upper section that is weakest) and allows the whole front of the cab to be bent downwards. I have heard of trucks where the doors popped open as they came unlatched during a pull! Just keep this in mind.

Thank you. I have some thoughts on a skid plate that reinforces that section based on what some others have done.

Your thoughts of reinforcement reminded me of a 710M I owned for a while that had additional bracing to the front main framework. I don't know who did it but it almost looks like it may have been done at the factory. Here's a couple of photos:

Patrick CWR was a big proponent of reinforcing the front when a winch was fitted. The above looks like the kind of supports he used in the early years. He later had plates made that were welded to the sides of the nose piece to make it even stronger. Seemed like a lot of weight to add to the front especially after winch install.

Looks great. I like the modifications you did. Also like the red color.

Actually, aside from structural points where the strength is needed, most of the metalwork is done in aluminum.

My total weight is still just below that of a 710K. The bulk of the weight has been added below the belt line to avoid shifting the center of gravity up higher.

Front bumper and winch mount are to heavy....i see That becouse your front wheels are not straight, they are compressing inwards.
Your can easely correct That by adding spacers between the lower springseats, i have done this with my 710m when i had a winch up front. I wil post a picture so you can see what i mean.
