Build projects, things that guys have come up with to make a Pinz better (or worse?) and aftermarket add-ons.

Heater mount plate

Post by kdiqq »

Thought I might take a moment to show off my adapter I made. I had some qualms about drilling the holes I needed for my heater. Specifically I didn't know if I could get the position correct, make sure it was totally parallel, AND get the hole spacing correct. So, being an engineer, I geeked out a solution, made a quick drawing, and had an aluminum plate cut on the water jet. What this allows me to do is make one simple incision in the Pinzgauer only having to measure off the two edges of the plate and, as a bonus, it spreads out the forces experienced when getting tossed around offroad! Here's some pics. These are super easy and fast for me to make so if anyone wants one, I can send one out easy. Just need about 5 units before it gets cost effective. The material is 1/4" 5052 aluminum and you have to use zinc plated bolts to avoid galvanic corrosion that's common with aluminum and steel. Can also have them made out of stainless! :) ImageImage
