Not even close, the ones on the Red Robin look to be 35" and have a more road friendly tread.

I meant the same make - who makes them? though I doubt we could get them over here to be honest - you guys have all the good offroad stuff! .

When you were doing your articulation tests on the ramp did you see much chassis flex?

The reason for asking is for my camper project, wondering if the rear box will move too much (if the chassis flexes) to allow an over-cab extension on the ambulance box.

Not any that I could notice, I left it on the ramp for several minutes and checked all bind points. All the articulation appeared to come from the springs and four link set up.

I was in Iceland for an extended period of time in 1993 and I had my 1971
Toyota Land Crusher shipped over to avoid the high car rental rates and
also so that I could explore the highlands.

I saw quite a few C303s and was pretty impressed. I almost traded my
Land Crusher for a C303, but my two friends, Sigurður and Björn talked
me out of it. Seems that they had both owned C303s and had a lot
of problems, including transmission and transfer case failures, not to
mention severe rust problems. Now, in Iceland the last thing you want
is a blown transmission in the highlands when you might be 100 miles
from the nearest habitation. Recovery can be terribly expensive.

The Icelanders, as you may already know, are 4WD nuts. They build
fantastic trucks and they push them harder than anybody else I know.
I have seen the Icelanders do off-road things in a Ford Escort that
I thought would even stop my Land Crusher.

Both Sigurður and Björn suggested that I buy a Pinzgauer, but the Pinz was
not available in the USA then. Last September I finally bought my Pinz and it has
never let me down.

I certainly don't want to start a pissing match here so let me say that I still
think the C303 is a pretty neat machine and if I could afford both a
Pinz and a C303, I would have one of each.

back where i used to work we worked closely with alcan for all our leaf spring needs. the multi leaf packs are awesome and affordable. with some custom mounts, longer shocks, and maybe a shackle reversal in the front the 303 could quickly become even an amazing crawler too. beautiful dream, haha
