Brake Bleeding

Post by jeepboy_90 »

I have replaced all the wheel cylinders and brake lines. As I went to go through the process of bleeding the brake system, I went to start at the servo and there is no bleeder port as outlined in the manual. Just the banjo style fitting.

Do I just crack the banjo fitting open to bleed?

Thanks for any input. Ready to get back on the road.

I know this is a late response but I figured I would respond to this in order to aide anyone else that is looking for an answer to this.

While the manual (or at least a variation of the TGB manual) shows bleed ports at the top of the Lockheed servos this really isn't the case. The go to procedure for bleeding is to crack open the connection at the banjo fitting at the servo that corresponds to the braking circuit you are bleeding and letting fluid and air out from there. If you ever service or rebuild your servos and have them out then I would recommend adding bleed valves as I have done. It has helped and with the addition of a power bleeder bleeding the system on my TGB has become less of a chore and is now a one man job.
