Volvo TGB1111 and standing volvos .

Hello all,
whats the weight on the plate of a Volvo TGB1111, In the UK whats it M.O.Ted as.
If a volvo has been standing for a long time what problems can I expect to find ?

I believe it is 2400kgs. As for problems you've got all the usual guff, moisture in the fuel, flat batteries, and perished rubber etc. As For TGB specific one, I would imaginge it depends on where it has been stored ad for how long.

So the TGB1111 is on a normal car M.O.T. then ?
on the fuel front going back to the tank theres a in line filter is there an other filter in the tank ?

If it's any help Cliff, the petrol feed pipe and in-line filter had been renewed on my 1314 when it arrived, so maybe worth checking, they often look OK but break up internally and clog the filter in my experience.

a new pipe is the way to go solves the problem once and for all.

There is usualy one of the float bowl type filters in front of the engine. Its nice and high and out of the way whilst being easy to get at for servicing.

Done the bowl filter going back down the system is a in line filter next to the fual tank, then the pipe goes to the tank is there a a gauze filter in the tank or is it just a pick up pipe ?

Hello all,
went over for the TGB1111 today.
changed the inline fual filter and pipe and clips still no go,
then changed the pipe from the fual pump back to the metal fual line turned out to be in bad shape and split.
job done runs like a clock
