Tail Light Lenses

Post by Phil »

I'm looking for a source for replacement original military style rear stop/turn signal light lenses for my TGB radio truck?
Any ideas for a supplier in North America???

To close out this thread and answetr my own question: I found a listing for the rear taillights in Hella North America's online catalog. I called my local Hella distributor and they indicated they would have to check price and availability with Hella N.A. They called back one hour later and indicated that Hella will not sell these taillights to anyone in North America because they are illegal for street use.

Phil,

Where in the Hella NA catalog did you find those lamps? Do you have a part #? I may have a solution on how to get some here in the states.

Take care.

Jim: Hella has changed its part numbers on its taillights recently I have been advised. I don't have the catalog page reference , but
the new listing is:
Series 1685 Red/Amber Stop/Turn/Taillight
part No. 0 01685231

FYI: I have a set of complete rear taillights coming to me from the U.K.

Anyone else needing these, I can get them for very little money, ie about $8 a set (backing and lens).

email me on rdover@volvoc303.co.uk

Phil, I've not forgotten you I've just not been into town for a while, should manage tomorrow (Thursday)

Rear lights

Post by Bernard »

I was having trouble finding new rear lights, since I was told
that Hella was not producing them at this time and would be
restarting is production only in October 2007.

After a long search, I found complete replacement lights
at Stafford Vehicle Components, in England.

They are manufactured in Austria under the name Saw.

They have a plastic shell and no rubber internal cushions
but are identical to the Hella parts in all other respects.

My two cents worth,
Bernard.
