VINCE Fuel Filler on your Red 303

Post by Paul »

Vince;
May I ask where you found the Recessed fuel fill that is on your Red 303 ?
What is the normal application its used on ? I would like to try to fit one
on my M-37 to get rid of the huge fill cap.

Thanks
Paul

If you wanted to go with a modern fuel filler use a neck and cap from a Chev 2500 to 3500 stake bed truck.

Our customer for the red 6x6 radio truck( & posted by Lightengpinz on this link ) wanted to do just that, BUT when they saw the finished product, the director overuled it based upon the "retro attractive" looks the filler presents to the public.

Marketing men , gotta love 'em!

Paul & Shane,

I've got the tan C303 that Vince built, and for the life of me I don't know where he got the filler (mine has the upgrade), but I recently saw a pickup truck go by with one of the commercial beds on it with all those built-in tool boxes (contractor's truck?), and it also had what looked like the same filler. Might want to start there.

Any of the commercial truck parts houses will have that one or similar. They are very common on service body style trucks and box vans. In AZ we have a place called Sothwest truck equipment and they have them in ABS housing as well as a recessed metal housing. Basically anyplace that does work on service duty trucks will be able to help.
Good Luck
Mike
