Coolant pump needed

Post by Jim LaGuardia »

Anyone have a cross over application for the water pump or a supply source?

You can just order one for a Volvo 164.
It's exactly the same. Parts normally are readily availble.

I replaced mine with a 164 pump, but I had to swap pulley flanges to match up to orig pulley. No real big deal, just a little "pressing".

Guys
The pulley and the offset are different on a c303 and 164 car pump.

Obviously it is easy to remove the pulley flanges however do remember that some flanges are made in cast iron and can shatter upon pressing off and on the shaft.

Care needs to be taken when pressing on a flange to a new pump so that the gland and shaft are not displaced by the pressing activity. Furthermore the shaft must be supported during the pressing activity by virtue of the fact that it sits inside the case . Hence do NOT the pump casing.
