Cracked Chassis on Volvo C303

Post by michael mcauliffe »

Hi Folks

Has anyone had any problems with a cracked chassis on a C303 ?

I live here in Australia and we don't grow C303 Chassis's on trees, so i was wondering if anyone had repaired / welded any cracks on a
C303 chassis ?

Cheers

Where are the cracks located? It would be good info in case there is an inherent problem w/the Volvos.

My truck has had the chassis strengthened at the front shock mount and the rear vaccum tank has had a welding repair where the round pipe meets the chassis rail. The front shock mount was done before I owned the truck and hasn't given me any problem. The vaccum tank had been repaired also but I have also had it welded again, took me a while to work out why my diff locks weren't working all the time. I regularly carted 1.25 t loads over some steep tracks that would have made the chassis flex.
