broken turn signal switch lever on C304?

Post by alaskossie »

I tried to search the archives on this topic, but find that the present search function includes both Pinzes and Volvos...couldn't the search be more easily categorized? Or maybe I overlooked that option...

Anyway, i left my C303 6X6 at a shop to be tuned to pass emissions inspection, and somewhere along the way (at the shop, or the emissions station), someone got into the driver's seat without clearing the turn signal lever, and it broke or popped off.

How to re-instrall it -- or is it broken? I can see a slotted nylon ball inside the switch mechanism, but can't seem to get to lever to attach and stay there.

i assume that the lever had some sot of breakaway safety feature, but how to reattach it? Or get a new (salvage) turn signal switch and lever?

Same switch as VW Transporter or Pinzgauer, look on ebay for a used one.
