Selector locking ring removal.

Post by cascade.king »

Could someone clue me in on how to effectively remove the retainer rings that lock the dif-lock selectors in place. I fear that over-exuberance on my part will cause me trouble..

Looks like it is in the up / engaged position. How about some penetrating oil to soak it for a day or two and then some mallet taps to try to break the bed liner goo free? Once it drops down you can clean it better from underneath.

I just want to get the silver ring removed so I can pull the selector out. I can't figure how to get the ring to release..

I'm pretty sure you just turn it, but if you ask the question over on the haflinger.com ste, you will get an answer from people who have actually done it!

I've just looked at mine!

Just responded over on TheHaflinger.com.

Push in the buttons and lift the ring - it does not twist. Lots of lube may be needed.
