The Pathfinder in the Puch museum is L281. The lower photo apparently is displaying the effects of lighting/camera abnormalities.
Cheers,
Steve.
Finally some closure...
Both by Steve (one of said experts I was talking about) and by S-Tec who very kindly ran the SAV Hafi serial number for me (only 2 away from mine).
When the Wagenstammkarte lists the color as beige it is L281 confirmed 100% via S-Tec (both my Hafi and the SAV Hafi have color listed as 42.08.60.9 beige).
Now I can move on

Hey Dan,
I'll take those green wheels off your hands when you are ready to part with them. We can work out some kind of deal in trade for the doors and other parts you asked me for.

Will keep you posted - I have a pile of rims now - 10 12", 5 13" and 4 14" - just need to figure out which ones I am going to get rid of but will email you once I have it figured out.

Hi John,
I got that email too. I saved the attachments and followed the link but couldn't seem to see anything that matched up well to North American Haflinger colors. Both the Fiat sheet and the Steyr-Puch samples seem "off" by several shade degrees. I recognized some colors as possibly from Puch mopeds and perhaps some of their passenger cars. The red is similar to the pre-1969 Canadian Haflingers but seems a bit darker. I didn't see any that compare well to the L275 or L281 used on US Pathfinders.

Steve

Just picked up all my small parts.
They did a great job considering I gave them a very specific budget (= low) not to go over.
Everything was acid dipped, repaired and then finished with high build epoxy primer.
It is -12 C today so this will have to wait until warmer Spring weather :)
Pic of a few of the items.

You should consider powder coating as many parts as you can instead of painting, use RAL 6014 and they will turn out nice.
Here's my pile of parts from 3 years ago-

Finally able to get the Hafi out of storage and start work on it again (last weekend).
Man what a crappy Spring!
Anyhow - got the paint matched up, L281 and will be shooting parts shortly (will still be a while before the body is ready for paint)

Front seat pads will be a few more weeks - just ordered foam but dropped off a frame and the material last Dec

Hope to have entire body down to bare metal by end of June

Buy yourself one of those above ground swimming pools, make yourself some paint stripping / rust eating solution - put the platform in to soak for a while!

How many cans of paint stripper have you bought? Looks like you a lot of paint to take off.... tennis elbow anyone?
