Looking for a source for R201.210 headlight relay
So, does anyone have a good source for the R201.210 24v 150a relay for the C303's? I'm searching high and low and haven't found any good sources other than Ali Baba in China.

Tantaka has them and it's cheap

358 Swedish krona is about $41.07 USD
I did a quick search and couldn't see much else either although I'm sure there are alternative sources if one was to persist. This reminds me about a Bosch alternative for the SEV Marchal voltage regulator I found part no.0192033004, the original SEV Marchal unit is no longer available. Its the same as Tantaka sell and it is listed as a replacement when the SEV Marchal pt no. is google searched. I will put the info and seller in a relative thread.

I think I'm going to need to buy the part from Tantaka and just pay the associated shipping. I'll get more than one though! I can't find it anywhere else either.
Re: Looking for a source for R201.210 headlight relay
Unfortunately paying for shipping is just a of part of owning these vehicles, I usually buy a selection of other "consumable" type parts that I wouldn't get locally to justify the shipping costs....CV boots are a handy spare to have lying around but I see you've just done them.
Do you have any idea why the HL relay would need to be 150amp, seems pretty high.

No clue, but the relay does the headlights, low and high as well as the hazard flashers and all the running lights... so maybe the combination of all that together?

Re: Looking for a source for R201.210 headlight relay
Since watts equals volts times amps, you can add up all the bulb wattages and divide by the voltage to get the amps. However, the problem with incandescent bulbs is that they draw 5 to 10 times the normal current as they warm up in the first fraction of a second (us old guys remember when light bulbs always failed when you turned on the switch, they failed because of the high starting current). So someone may have over-spec'd the relay - most are capable of the starting current surge without being heavier than the rated bulb running current.any idea why the HL relay would need to be 150amp, seems pretty high.

Thanks jimm, very well explained. Makes feel a bit easier if I ever need to wire it up through convential relays, should the original relay ever become unavailable.
