The bumper would be nicer looking in a scrap yard.

I removed the old rusted light mounts and the bumper will get some love.

Re: 300,000th G-Class
Sorry, can't help myself when I see chrome on a military 4x4, red or not.
Mine had that same bumper on it when I got it, although it was black. Felt great to get it off and got $400 for it. It will likely cause more damage to the front end if you hit something, than without it. They tend to bend and crush lots of body work. I saw a G500 that had one which was hit (not that hard) on the pasg side. It magically bent the fender and light area on the driver's side as well.
The mounting and overall design is a joke. It's an effective lever that also twists the original bumper they "bolt" to.
I'll shut up now.
As for the original post- it really is amazing how they build these things. All different models on the assembly line at the same time. I got to watch them being built when I was in Graz. All hand work, little noise- pick-ups, 2-doors, 4-doors, diesels and gas v8s all on the same line at the same time.

For Vince
And yes I know it's a 463 trying to look like a 460 (it's just dipped so peels off and the red headlight surrounds had issues so this is the fix (for now))
Fender flares are next

Ha, for a half second I thought that was a 460 front end. A mild optical illusion.
